Mould for hosts

Mould for hosts

A hinged metal mould used as a pair of tongs, featuring religious scenes and Gothic script. Used to produce two sizes of unconsecrated communion wafers by applying heat and pressure to a mixture of flour and water, imprinting the images onto the dough, which were then distributed during religious ceremonies. From Meoz (Navarra).
