Rattle

Rattle

A percussion instrument consisting of a soundbox resting on three legs, to which five hammers are attached, along with a roller fitted with a crank handle to strike them. It originates from the church of Arzubiaga (Araba), where it was used to accompany the Tinieblas de Semana Santa services whilst the church was in darkness.
