Cheese mould

Cheese mould

Mould made from a curved strip of wood, nailed to a base with a carving in the shape of a six-pointed star, used to mark the cheese and release the rennet when the cheese is pressed. Made by shepherds, it is now obsolete due to the introduction of stainless-steel moulds.
