A zoomorphic sculpture in the round, carved from a single block of sandstone in a schematic style, representing an animal, a boar, which holds a disc between its legs and beneath its belly. Various interpretations have been put forward regarding the meaning, function and chronology of these sculptures, though there is no unanimous consensus. The first reference to the Mikeldi dates from 1634. In 1896, it was placed next to the chapel of San Vicente de Mikeldi, Durango, Bizkaia, where it remained until its transfer to the museum cloister in 1920, where it has been ever since.
